Hello! My name is Kaysie and I am 20 years old. I live with my family in the beautiful mountains of TN with our three dogs, four horses, one cat, one rabbit, and 17 chickens!
More importantly, I am a bride of Christ and I am passionate about Him; loving, following and delighting in Him. I am a “stay-at-home daughter”, preparing for a future of servant-hood, whether it be serving my future husband and our family (if it be God’s will), or to continue serving my family and, above all, Christ my heavenly Groom.
The Lord has given me a passion to encourage others to fully love and fully delight in Jesus, and this blog was born out of that passion. Being single myself, I am excited about sharing with other single young women my love for Jesus and His amazing love for us.
Years ago, I prayed a simple prayer asking only one thing – to fall in love with Jesus. He has abundantly, beyond all that I could ask or think, answered my prayer! And I want to tell the world, especially single women, that Jesus can satisfy your deepest longings for love, acceptance, and friendship with Himself. I am a living proof.
No longer do we have to search for someone or something else to satisfy our souls. We only need one Person, and His name is Jesus. If it is God’s will that He join my (or your) heart to another, blessing us with a husband, then God will direct our paths to cross with that man…for those who trust in God have their paths directed by God. (Prov. 3:4-5)
But we must realize that unless we are satisfied with Christ, no man will ever satisfy our hearts and desires.
Christ must be our first Love…for really He is the only One who can satisfy.
Come and join this journey with me! (Read more of this story here.)
On a Personal Note
A little more about myself: I love to be outside on a pretty day, taking walks and gardening. Autumn is my favorite season…something about the cooler weather, gentle breezes, and beautifully colored leaves awake my senses and warm my heart. Autumn and harvest-time remind me that will we reap a bountiful harvest in due season if we do not lose heart. (Gal. 6:9) Each season, however, has a different beauty of it’s own and testify to the glory of God…I love them all!
To describe my personality…well, let me ask my sisters (ok, maybe not). I would probably be a Jane Bennet or Elinor Dashwood from the classics. I am more on the quiet side, however, put me in a room with my two sisters and I come alive. I enjoy being alone to reflect, study and be with God. My family are my favorite people to be with. I am always thinking about “deeper” spiritual things, and it is a refreshment for me to write. My favorite store is any bookstore (especially Lifeway), I love browsing…and buying.
One of my favorite “interests” is having tea. Yes, the fancy, British style complete with
china teacups and dark – very dark – hot tea. In the morning when I have my time with God, having a cup of tea adds so much pleasure to my study! Hot tea and bible study…it couldn’t get much better. If you too are interested in having tea, please check out my other blog the Tea Rose.
I enjoy reading and writing as well. I love reading classic Christian books that have stood the test of time and are rich in wisdom. I really enjoy the writings of Andrew Murray and Charles Spurgeon. I also enjoy modern Christian writings from authors such as John Piper, Jerry Bridges, Kay Arthur, Beth Moore, Randy Alcorn, and many others. But by far my favorite book in the world is the Bible. No other Book has transformed my life as much as the Bible has…His Words became for me a joy and the delight of my heart. (Jer. 15:16) It is my constant companion and the perfecter of my spirit. It is absolutely the best way to get to know my Lover and heavenly Groom Jesus.
Writing has also amazingly enhanced my walk with Jesus; writing down the things He is showing me and being able to share with others is a great joy. I pray this blog is just another outlet for my heart to declare God’s greatness and His pursuing, abundant love for us. (Thank you for listening!)
Music also has a special way of encouraging my heart. I enjoy pouring my heart out to God through song (as long as no one is around!). I love many kinds of music: worship, instrumental, hymns, contemporary Christian, etc. God has used the words of a song to cheer me up many times. I have many “love songs” with God.
A few of my favorite things: my beautiful Bible, journals – especially PaperBlanks journals, hot English Breakfast tea in a china cup, an autumn breeze, Chris Tomlin’s CDs, my iPod, the sound of a horse’s breathing, my bedroom (it’s so pretty), reading a classic Christian living book, bible studies (I just love them!!!), the colors green and purple, my funny dog Braveheart, laughing, writing from my heart, receiving letters in the mail, blue skies, foggy mornings, warm sunshine, planting flowers, quiet moments with God, heart-moving music, days spent with my family, the smell of lavender, tee-shirts and jeans, running outside barefoot, being loved by Jesus, loving Jesus back, strong hugs, talking about Jesus and our lives lived for Him, thoughts of heaven, friendship, being an ordinary woman serving an extra ordinary God…
About My Family
My family is the greatest source of joy, laughter and love God has given me. These five people are my best friends and know and accept me just the way I am, and encourage me to be the woman God’s wants me to be. They have been with me through the dark times and the days full of sunshine. Each member holds a special place in my heart.
Dad is my earthly protector and provider. He has embraced me my entire life; through all my many seasons and changes. He is the king that guards my castle with his mighty prayers and strong hands, and leads our family with a kind and gentle heart. Mom is the center of our home and a light in my heart. Her walk with Jesus is a constant inspiration for myself and so many others. She is a treasure. I wouldn’t be the person I am without her influence. She was the first one to tell me about my Lover, and live a life right before my eyes that confirm His existence. Tre’ is my big brother and a dear friend. Although we weren’t very close when I was little (we are 12 years apart), that hasn’t stopped us from growing closer in our older years. I love his sense of humor and his smile. Courtney(18) is my comrade and kindred spirit. She is constantly making me laugh until my stomach hurts. We have endured much together, and I have grown stronger by her faithful friendship. She knows me better than I sometimes know myself. And last, but certainly not least, is dear Carley(12). Her name means “song of joy” and that is what she has been in my life, a joyful melody to my lifesong. Her kind heart is a reflection of Christ’s and her laughter always leaves me smiling. She is the best baker in our family, frequently filling our kitchen with amazing smells. How thankful I am for my beautiful family…each member will forever hold a special place in my heart.

Hey I love how you spell your name! Mine is spelled Casey (I’m a bit older than you and when they named me Casey it wasn’t a typical “girl” name). It’s nice to meet you!

I love your heart! I have been married for 8 months now, but can remember how in my single years the Lord was my and still is my husband! I’m so happy that you love the Lord so much and want to share about Him in your writing. May He bless you abundantly and always.

I love your blog! It’s such an encouragement to see something like this on the web for me to read and be blessed by – thank you so much! I’m only fifteen, not nearly old enough to think about marriage, but I resolved long ago to wait for my future husband, and to be pure. I love reading about and learning from your wonderful writings and inspirations, especially your thoughts on falling in love with God. How true is that!
Again, thanks, keep up the great work, and God bless you!

Nice site! Something really concerns me though, and please take a read: It can be a HUGE stumbling block to both unbelievers and young Christians alike when we use the term “in love” with Christ. “In love” in both the New Testament language (Greek = “eros”) and any English dictionary, refers to romantic and/or sexual love. The use of the term implies such feeling, and it is VERY misleading. Do not stumble the younger sisters and brothers, please. We are to love Christ with all our hearts and minds with a phileo and agape love, but connotations of a romantic or sexual relationship with Him is both sinful and blasphemous. Thanks.

In response to Nathan’s comment:
Thank you for your concern, and I would like to address your concerns and hopefully clear them.
First, my daughter Kaysie, created this blog to encourage young women in purity and devotion to Christ alone. I think that as you read her messages, as she shares God’s word in context, and just the sincerity of her own heart, that it would be difficult for one to assume that she would in any form or text cause one to stumble, sin, or blaspheme our God. Nevertheless, if you have found her writings to be misleading, we pray forgiveness. But, I also would like to respond furthermore on your comment concerning the term “in love” with Christ. There are four Greek words for love:
1)Storge-natural 2) Phileo-companion 3) Agape-God given 4) Eros-passion
The last word meaning, Eros, is not even used in the New Testament. So, please understand that particular meaning has never been referred to by any of Kaysie’s writings. As a matter of fact the words you used in your comment, “sexual”, have NEVER been posted or even implied in any way by my daughter. So, please allow this to be clear to all, we only desire for God to be glorified, and for young women to be encouraged in their relationship with their Lord Jesus, and pray that we would never cause any to stumble. Thanks for your concern Nathan, hope this addresses your concerns.
In Christ,
Kaysie’s Father

Hi! Thanks for the response. I am sure the authors of this blog aren’t implying young women to become romantically or sexually interested in Jesus, but I was pointing out that the term “in love” implies exactly that. In fact, there were a couple girls in my youth group who were so concerned that they weren’t “in love” with Christ like other girls appeared to be, and I had to go through a lengthy explanation as to what this really meant.
It would just lessen the confusion SO much if the church would say “we wish to love Christ with all our hearts and minds” as He commands us, and not use the “in love” phrase. It’s like if I said “I really want to sleep with my sister.” I may not mean it in a sexual way, but 99% of people would – and in the case of our relationship with Christ, there are so many non-sexual ways to express our love for Him.
I have just seen too many stumbled and/or turned off by this, and it’s very sad. Thanks!

Hi Nathan,
You know what would be really great is if we taught our youth 1. Not to compare their relationship with Jesus with other’s relationships. (they will either fall short or feel justified) 2. If we taught them that faith and believing is not based on any “feeling” we have including but not limited to “being in love”. Honestly, only FON (Freaks of Nature) think about Jesus in a sexual context.
This blog isn’t going to lead anyone into that a peverse relationship with Jesus.
Also, the term “being in love” is not sexual. Especially to a pure young woman.
Thanks!

I found your blog quite by accident, but it is truly more of a God revelation. I love your site and what you’ve had to say about being “in love” with Christ.
As my children were growing up, I always prayed they would “fall in love with Jesus.” If they would do that, they would make it in this old world.
I never have heard anyone express that the expression had anything to do with sexuality. I really feel it is an appropriate expression for loving Christ with everything that is within us.
Thanks for the site. Please add my daughter to your prayers.

Hey, I just gotta say, I love your stuff
I am always looking for stuff to give my junior high girls that I disciple, and I think I am going to show them this… It is great to see other young women living for God, and seeing that purity is not just avoiding certain things, but it is being totally imersed in Jesus, and constantly walking with the Spirit… it is such a rewarding and beautiful way to live, nothing compares to know Him!!! Thank You, Lord, for wonderful sisters in Christ!
